The UAE Ministry of Finance has extended the eInvoicing ASP appointment deadline for companies with annual revenues above AED 50 million, giving them until October 30, 2026, to select an Accredited Service Provider.
The Ministry stated that the decision follows an assessment of market readiness and feedback from the business community. Companies had requested more technical options, stronger competition among providers, and pricing that better reflects market needs.
The change does not affect the final implementation date. Businesses covered by the eInvoicing system must still fully implement it by January 1, 2027.
Changes to Provider Accreditation Rules
According to the Ministry, 32 service providers have already been approved, while more are in the final stages of accreditation. The expansion of the provider base is expected to support a more competitive and reliable digital infrastructure.
The Ministry has also revised accreditation rules to allow UAE-based companies to work with international technology providers. This is intended to support knowledge transfer, improve local capabilities, and accelerate the country’s broader digital transformation.
What this means for businesses
The extension gives companies more time to choose an ASP, compare technical solutions, and prepare their internal systems in a more structured way. It may also help businesses avoid rushed decisions and negotiate more suitable commercial terms.
For service providers, the updated accreditation rules create more opportunities for cooperation between UAE-based companies and international technology partners. This could expand the range of available solutions and support stronger competition in the market.
The key deadline, however, remains unchanged. Companies covered by the eInvoicing requirements must still complete the transition by January 1, 2027. In the UAE, this timeline allows the rollout to remain on schedule while giving businesses more flexibility during the preparation phase.
