The UAE aims to make buildings that are good for the environment and can withstand climate change.
Officials from the UAE's Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure discussed new ways to fight climate change and shared ideas and technologies that have helped their country become more sustainable.
Sheikh Naser Al Qassimi, a top ministry official, attended an important talk about building green structures and using less energy. This shows that the UAE is serious about making its buildings more environmentally friendly.

The UAE, in its commitment to environmental protection and sustainability, has actively pursued several national initiatives and strategic directives to decarbonize the building sector. Our “Green Home Loan” program exemplifies our approach, enabling citizens to partake directly in our nation's green transformation by making sustainable housing more accessible.

The UAE has created rules for sustainable infrastructure, roads, buildings, and homes. These rules set strict standards for energy and water use, waste management, and the use of eco-friendly materials. The goal is to ensure that all projects help the UAE become more sustainable.
Some key projects discussed include a guide for smart construction using technology and digital designs and a 3D digital twin project that creates a virtual copy of city infrastructure to improve planning and make cities better places to live.
The UAE is also working with other Arab nations on projects like a plan for zero-emission buildings.[?] This is part of a larger effort to meet the Paris Agreement and Sustainable Development Goals.
Another important project is the National Demand Side Management Program, which aims to use energy and water more efficiently and reduce environmental impact.
Sheikh Al Qassimi emphasized the importance of these efforts, mentioning joint research with NYU (New York University) Abu Dhabi on rising sea levels. He stressed:

These studies project significant risks not just to our ecological treasures – the mangroves and coral reefs – but also to our urban infrastructure.
