Usually, the construction industry starts to get busier after the summer slowdown, especially in the Middle East. Despite the scorching heat, which usually slows things down, this August has been different, with a surprising number of new project launches across various sectors.
This month, we've seen a burst of ambitious projects, with significant contributions from big developers like Dubai Investments, Diyar Al Muharraq, MERED, Alef Group, and ROSHN, as well as new players making an impact.

1. Dubai: Solar Power Plant

Dubai Investments Real Estate (DIR) and Al Mujama, working with Yellow Door Energy and Clyde Engineering, have just put a new solar power plant into action in the RITAJ community inside Dubai Investments Park.
The solar plant covers nine residential buildings and has over 2,000 solar panels. It's expected to create 1.9 million kilowatt-hours of clean energy each year, enough to power the buildings for 30% of their needs.[?]The project will also make a big difference for the environment by reducing carbon emissions by 756,000 kilograms per year, like taking over 160 cars off the road! The project is set up as a solar lease, meaning that Al Mujama gets to save money on their energy bills without paying for the plant upfront.
