UAE Sets New Standards for Workplace Safety and Dignity

The Union Association for Human Rights (UAHR) has praised the UAE's laws, policies, and programs, which have created a comprehensive and unique system that protects workers' rights and meets its international human rights commitments.

Dr. Fatima Khalifa Al Kaabi, President of the Association, praised the UAE's efforts to establish a comprehensive system that protects workers' human and social rights on International Workers' Day on May 1st. This aligns with the country's leadership's goal to increase respect for workers' rights.
Dr. Al Kaabi also emphasized the UAE's prominent status in worldwide rankings, particularly its top position in the "Talent Attractiveness Index," according to the Global Prosperity Index 2023 by the UK's Legatum Institute. [?] Besides, the country excels in the "low cost of termination of service" indicator, as described in the Global Innovation Index 2022 by the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO).
According to the International Institute for Management Development (IMD) in Switzerland, the UAE was ranked first globally in various indicators in the World Competitiveness Ranking 2022 report. [?] These indicators include "few labor disputes," "low costs of compensating for termination of worker's services," and "working hours."
Dr. Al Kaabi expressed gratitude to all workers and acknowledged their contributions to national development and global leadership. She emphasized respecting their dignity, securing their rights, and promoting their well-being for a brighter future.
