The facility, located within Expo City Dubai, will function as an innovation center that bridges public and private sector expertise in AI and robotics research. This state-of-the-art institution aims to support technological innovation, provide incubation services for startups, and expedite the development of smart automation solutions for urban infrastructure.

The initiative encompasses a strong educational component through Expo City Dubai's sponsorship of doctoral candidates at Heriot-Watt University's Centre for Doctoral Training. This strategic investment in human capital development aligns with the UAE's vision of strengthening its knowledge-based economy and maintaining its position as an AI innovation leader.
This pioneering project exemplifies the power of collaboration between academia, industry, and government. Heriot-Watt University has been at the forefront of higher education in the UAE for 20 years, and we remain committed to advancing AI and robotics research.

The project aligns with the UAE's National Strategy for Artificial Intelligence 2031 and will support local industries through practical research outcomes. The facility plans to implement collaborative projects with international partners, focusing on developing solutions for sustainable urban living and smart city operations across the MENA region.

The Robotarium is expected to drive progress across multiple sectors, including construction, real estate development, and smart city infrastructure. By creating an environment that attracts international expertise and promotes innovation, this initiative reinforces the UAE's position as a global technology research hub.

The formal agreement was executed by key representatives from both organizations, with attendance from senior government officials representing the UAE, Scotland, and the United Kingdom.
